The lagoon of Elafonissi in western Crete

I visited the beach in 1989. There were only three or four other people there. Its sad it was developed but I suppose that's inevitable.

I was there in 1999, and there still were only a few people on this wonderfull beach.

I visited in 2001 and in high season is really crowded!

I was there last week and it was very bust indeed. It';s still a wonderful and natural place though.

If i had to save some sensations of my past days, i'd ask to save the joy i felt when i saw this paradisiac place for the first time.

Brilliant beautiful beach with warm soothing shallow waters. Sun loungers and umbrellas available for a very small price Scenery is unique. Never that busy. Highly recommended.

absolutely beautiful. like a tropical lagoon, pink sand. yes, pink! tiny pretty shells scattered at the waters edge, we cant wait to go back next week!
