Ierapetra - Satellite Images of Crete
Ierapetra is a small town in the south-east of Crete. The lake in the back is the lake of Bramiana, an artificial lake, which was made to supply the local greenhouses with water in the dry summer. The lake is the biggest wetland on Crete, and it has become a natural reserve for birdlife.
The area around Ierapetra is covered by numerous greenhouses, where vegetables are produced.
