Sfakia or Chora Sfakion - Satellite Images of Crete

The town of Sfakia or Chora Sfakion is in the south-west of Crete. The whole area from Chora Sfakion to Agia Roumeli is called Sfakia as well, and it is the most mountainous area in Crete. In the coastal zone west of Sfakia there are no roads and transportation is done by ferries and boats. Loutro and Agia Roumeli are two towns where you can go only by ferry from Chora Sfakion.
In the area of Sfakia there are many hiking paths, which makes the area excellent for lovers of hiking.

The road descending from Imbros to the towm of Sfakia is a steep descend, full of hairpin bends, but don't let that intimidate you. The road is safe provided that you will drive slowly and carefully. Always leave enough space for tour buses, especially when they are about to take a tight turn.
