Holidays in Falassarna

falassarna beach

Holidays in Falassarna means hours and hours of basking on one of the local beaches. Falassarna Beach is a huge sandy beach, while there are other, smaller ones on either side, so you can bathe at a different spot each day.

You can also tour the archaeological site and try to imagine what the harbour, now on land, looked like when it was full of triremes and sailors unloading cargoes from every corner of the Mediterranean.

Anyone choosing to spend their holidays in Falassarna will find the basics here, such as small hotels, restaurants and a few café-bars on the beach.

At the crossroads to the south beach is a minimarket with all the main necessities of life, but if you need more you’ll have to go to Platanos, where there is a supermarket, cashpoint, bank and pharmacy.

The Falassarna area is truly beautiful and well worth visiting if you’re in Chania Prefecture. If you’re lucky enough to visit out of season, you can enjoy it without the crowds and understand why it’s justly called one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
