Last visited Crete: 1998

Crete is special to me because I went there 5 times and since the 1st time I felt that this place was like home.

Favourite restaurants in Crete: all the tavernas I went to were nice, especially one in Koutouloufari I can\'t remember the name but they had a tasty "saganaki" (feta cooked in the oven--delicious!)

Favourite accommodation in Crete: Belvedere Hotel Hersonissos

Favourite beach in Crete: A small sandy beach near Star Beach, and Ammoudara, near Agios Nicolaos.
You have to see in Crete: Samaria, Vai, Knossos, Rethymno by night, Ierapetra... I recommend you rent a car, the whole island is so beautiful.

Night Life in Crete: Hersonissos. I also went to Malia but there were too many drunk people.

Off the beaten path in Crete:The small church of Agios Georgios, by car from Hersonissos take the road to the East.

When in Crete be careful about men! (especially some waiters....waiting for new girls)

Transportation: rent a car, it\'s the easiest way to visit the whole island.

Cultural Tips: Cretan people have unique culture and are proud of it (and they don't like much people from Athens) So try not to tell them "So, you Greek people do that..." all the time.
