Crete is special to me because Once you have been there you never want to go back home

Favourite restaurants in Crete: I don't remember the name, but it's the only restaurant close to the beach in Agios Nektarios / South Crete. Delicious vegetarian food!!!

Favourite accommodation in Crete:
1. Villa Tsapakis in Diskos, west of Lendas. They offer cheap but clean rooms with a fan. You can also rent cars there. The phone number of Villa Tsapakis is (003) 08920 95378. They also offer free hot
showers for the people who sleep on the beach
2. ...even better: a sleeping bag on the beach!
3. the youth hostel in Plakias

Favourite beach in Crete: Elafonisi, definitely! the pink sand and the green water are amazing!

You have to see in Crete: if you don't like big hotels, bad food and masses of tourists, stay away
from the Northern Coast!

Night Life in Crete: Anywhere in Iraklion, this city never sleeps

Off the beaten path in Crete: the European hiking path at Chora Sfakion - the sunset is so beautiful...

When in Crete be careful about: the mountain roads are often quite dangerous - never drive too fast!

Transportation: anything- bus, taxi rental bikes or cars. The private car rentals are often a lot cheaper than the big companies.

Cultural Tips: -

Anything else: I love Crete for it's friendly people, the delicious food and the lonely beaches. I will spend my holidays there whenever I can!!!
