Reviews of Julia Apartments in Platanes, Rethymnon

Apartments Julia Review by Nancy Priscilla Herd (UK) - Rating 09 / 10

Warm welcome on arrival. Apartments well decorated and exceptionally clean. International cuisine - Fresh food guaranteed with traditional Greek cuisine a must try! Shops close by. Close to bus/taxi stops to nearby Rethymnon/Heraklion. But why not stay and relax at the pool!

Apartments Julia Review by Steve B (UK) - Rating 09 / 10

Julia Apartments are at the western end of Platanes,5 kilometers from Rethymnon itself, and are recognised by the archway at the road junction sign posted "Garden Taverna".

As well as the apartments, the taverna is open to all. The food, which is very reasonably priced, is freshly cooked by mama Julia, who the appartments are named after.

The appartments are beautifully clean and maintained and there is a small pool, but due to the closenesss of the New road some noise is inevitable, but is never really much of a problem.

Advantages are, an excellent variety of shops, bars and tavernas, right on your doorstep (some with Greek and Cretan dancing several times a week) and a pleasant beach within easy walking. Also, Rethymnon is just down the road.

However, perhaps the best thing about Julia, is the host. The appartments are run very well by brothers Vassilis and Georgos, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Speaking of trouble, beware of Vassilis, who has an outrageous sense of humour and likes nothing more than a good laugh! Oh, and as he says, "I love your eeenglish breckfast and your beecon!"
