We discovered the Kyria Maria restaurant in a book highlighting the top 10 attractions etc. and this place was mentioned. It is on a road behind the Rimondi Fountain and I cannot praise it highly enough. The food was truly fantastic, the welcome genuinely warm and it was extremely reasonable - meal for 2, litre of wine, coffees, brandy, liquers plus plenty of Raki and it only came to 41 euros (we arrived at 9.45 p.m. and did not leave until 12.45 a.m.)!!! If I could offer one tip on Crete it would be to find this restaurant.
