Review of Maria's Taverna in PiskopianoMaria's Taverna review by Laura (UK) - Rating 10/10We have been going to Crete for the last 10 years & always visit Maria's Taverna nearly every other night! The hosts, Yianni & Alex are very funny & smash plates & sit down at your table with you for a chat. They make you feel very welcome even if they are extremely busy (often the case)! We tend to go after 9pm when the families are going! The Rose wine is lovely & they always remember what we like to eat! If you go ask to see Yianni's pyramid puzzle! Great food but you will spend all night there as they don't bring the bill to you in a hurry and keep re topping your free shots!
Maria's Taverna review by Kate (Ireland) - Rating 10/10I have been to stlais 3 times and this is by far the best restaurant in crete. The mousaka is superb and Yiannis, Alex and George are sure to give everyone a warm cretan welcome. If you want a real piece of Crete go to Maria's in beach road Stalis. The best greek cuisine and an opportunity to smash plates as well. |
